Hi, I’m Janaya,
I am about to begin my 7th year in Education. I currently teach grade 3 at a private school in Brisbane. Even though I have spent the last two years in grade 3, I have worked across all primary grade levels. I am passionate about supporting children to engage inquisitively with the world and become thoughtful, reflective and creative young people. I have my bachelor’s degree in Arts and Primary Education and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Alongside my teaching career, I have always babysat for families as I find joy in being able to support parents in taking time for themselves and being able to trust that their children are in good care.
My core professional values are inclusivity, respect, and integrity. I am proficient in creating innovative and engaging learning and play experiences that focus on the individual needs of each child I work with.
I am a bubbly and vivacious person who loves spending her days out in the sunshine, whether this is at the beach, going for a walk, or enjoying a nice cup of coffee while reading a book. I try to find joy in the simple things but also love the thrill of new adventures. I am very creative, and I love finding ways to express my creativity and sharing this process with the children I work with. You can trust that when your children are in my care, they will be laughing, looking for adventure and creating joy.
